rules.
!Remember to be cordial and respectful to the mod team as well as to your fellow players.
We understand things can get heated sometimes, however, ultimately we are all here to have fun and that should be respected at all times.
!The mods reserve the right to deny applications or remove players from the game if they feel it necessary for whatever reason.
Our objective is to make sure that everybody ( including ourselves ) has a fun experience, so we hope that something like this won't ever be necessary, but please keep this in mind.
!This game is friends only!
This means that in order to app you must know Pulse. While friends of friends are welcome, if you do not know Pulse please send the mod team a mail first, making sure to inform them of who you heard about the game from. We want to ensure the game will stay private and nice and that everyone will keep being comfortable playing potentially dark themes without judgment.
!Speaking of dark themes… Please make certain to appropriately add content warnings to your tags!
If your thread is heading into NSFW territory or something that can potentially be triggering or squicky, then make sure to add a “CW: [content]” to the title of the thread. This is to ensure no one will read content they may find difficult to read!
!DO NOT GODMODE.
While we all enjoy playing our characters being badasses, it is not fun to have no input in how an encounter goes. Communication is key: make certain to coordinate with your thread partner so that they’ll be able to react/fight back. That way everyone gets the absolute maximum amount of fun in that interaction.
!Remember, MWM is supposed to be a horror/survival game.
While we love and encourage player initiatives, they should NOT trivialize the setting. This means that, for example, if characters want to build an incredibly amazing shelter that will repel zombies no matter what, they would need to ICly gather materials and ICly spend months doing it, along with somehow finding something that WOULD repel zombies - which is not guaranteed. Do not handwave important initiatives like that, and always poke the mods for any planned alterations to the setting.
!Similarly, powers that can trivialize the horror/survival aspect of the game should be scaled back.
If your character would be able to instantly heal/revive any injuries with minimal consequence or immediately fix a building, for example, please put additional blocks on them. Example: revive is not possible, healing can be done only up to a certain %, someone who used to be invulnerable is now just very resistant, but can still be hit, fixing a building turns into repairing a window instead, and so on. Likewise, if a character can string together quality of life improvements, please scale it back. Materials should be scarce and it would not make sense for a single character to find so much they’d be able to whip several appliances together - and if that’s possible with the aid of powers, scale it back. For additional guidance on powers, please check the relevant page and feel free to ask the mod team.
!Be nice to gamerunners!
Gamerunners are also members of the playerbase and they are putting in an incredible amount of effort and dedication in running games. Games can be hit and miss, not every game will be perfect. It’s okay to not show up for a game you’re not interested in, or bow out if you’re getting bored. It’s NOT okay to offer unsolicited criticism and complain publicly about it being bad. Please only offer constructive criticism if asked for, in the channels it was asked for, and be courteous and mindful of your tone and words.
!Join the discord!
Communication between players, mod team and gamerunners is extremely important. As such, it’s important to keep open at least one way to do so.
